Project

The Fontedoso Natural Mineral Water Management Project - part of FONTEDOSO, S.L. - employs a system for the production of hot water for industrial use, absorption cooling and central heating, based on a solar thermal energy collection system in combination with conventional air-conditioning for its offices and open spaces, to save on energy costs.

 

Task

The client required an energy-efficient method of chilling a closed circuit to 7 °C, in order to cool the moulds on the bottling lines and to air-condition the premises with fan-coil terminal units. YAZAKI water-fired chillers were chosen, thanks to their highly efficient absorption cooling cycle design, which employs an environmentally harmless solution of water and lithium bromide. This is combined with a solar collector area made up of 504 m² of flat collectors. The surfaces where the solar energy collection panels are installed are designed in such a way that they cast a shadow over an area that can be used as a car park.
